    Overview

    Green Sage Cafe is looking for a dedicated Line Cook to join our fun and busy cafe at our south location on Hendersonville Rd. We are seeking individuals who can uphold the value our company has in preparing healthy and delicious meals by following simple recipes using organic, all-natural, and local ingredients. Our menu satisfies a customer base with a variety of dietary restrictions and lifestyle choices such as vegan, gluten-sensitive, dairy-free, etc. Our Line Cooks must be team players, respect all staff, prove dependability, and show initiative. Our cafes are open from 8am to 4pm and shifts are available between the hours of 7am-4pm so no late nights are required. There is opportunity for growth within the company for those who wish to excel in their career.

    Requirements

    Must have previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment

    Must have weekend availability

    Ability to work on your feet for six hours or more a day

    High level of professionalism

    Excellent verbal communication and organization skills

    Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds at a time on a regular basis

    ServSafe certification (Recommended)

    The Line Cook's primary role is the accurate, efficient and timely preparation, cooking and assembly of prep and menu items in the kitchen with the goal of giving customers the best eating experience possible from the back of the house.

    Responsibilities

    Knowledge of menu items, recipes and preparations per Green Sage standards

    Training, knowledge and safe usage of kitchen equipment to perform all duties

    Prepare all prep items per recipes and proper procedures

    Prepare menu items quickly and accurately according to tickets and customer requests

    Ensure that customer table orders are complete and correct before leaving the kitchen

    Maintain control, organization and communication during execution of orders at all times

    Maintain freshness and sanitation standards at all times per health codes and policies

    Receive and store deliveries using proper rotation and dating procedures

    Set up, breakdown and cleaning of kitchen according to checklists and guidelines

    Assist with expediting and food running or other duties as requested by the manager
