    Job Title: Jack's Abby Beer Hall Line Cook Status: Part Time Reports to: Kitchen Manager Salary: $18/hr - $24/hr (based on experience)

    JOB DESCRIPTION & EXPECTATIONS

    Jack's Abby Beer Hall is a lively and welcoming space where we celebrate great beer, delicious food, and community. We’re looking for a cook who loves fast-paced kitchens, takes pride in their craft, and enjoys being part of a fun, flavorful, community-driven taproom.

    As a Jack's Abby Beer Hall Cook, you’ll prepare menu items to spec, maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness, and help deliver a great guest experience through excellent execution and teamwork. You’ll work closely with our culinary and taproom teams to keep service efficient, consistent, and full of good vibes — because great beer deserves great food!

    If you love scratch cooking, staying organized under pressure, and being part of a tight-knit team, this role is for you.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Food Preparation & Execution

    Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, presentation standards, and portion guidelines.

    Maintain high-quality standards for flavor, texture, temperature, and appearance.

    Execute service quickly and efficiently during peak volumes.

    Assist with rotating specials and new menu rollouts.

    Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including proper food handling and storage.

    Kitchen Operations

    Arrive for a shift on time and in uniform.

    Set up and break down station before and after service.

    Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized work area throughout the shift.

    Assist with inventory, labeling, and rotating product (FIFO).

    Communicate product levels, 86’d items, and operational needs to the Kitchen Manager.

    Support expo, runners, and dishwashers when necessary.

    Cleanliness & Organization

    Maintain a sanitary work environment in accordance with health department standards.

    Clean equipment, tools, and work surfaces regularly.

    Assist with end-of-shift cleaning, trash removal, and deep-clean duties as assigned.

    Team Collaboration

    Communicate clearly with the Kitchen Manager, Chef, servers, and taproom team.

    Demonstrate respect, positivity, and professionalism in a high-pressure environment

    Support teammates during busy periods and shift transitions.

    Participate in trainings, tastings, and kitchen meetings.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Must be 18+ years of age.

    At least 1 year of prior cooking or line experience preferred.

    Strong communication and teamwork skills.

    Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.

    Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift 50 lbs., and handle hot items safely.

    Available for nights, weekends, and Mondays is required.

    Food Handler’s certification (or ability to obtain).

    Reliable transportation to and from work.
