A Growing Charlotte corporate headquarters is seeking a highly motivated accounting professional who will be responsible insurance accounting, GAAP and Statutory reporting and internal controls. This role is an integral member of the Accounting team and will be responsible for full cycle accounting, which includes preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis for assigned financial statement accounts. This position reports directly to the Divisional Controller. Additionally, you will be responsible for:

• Preparation of insurance accounting including investment accounting and reporting, premium reporting, premium receivable and bad debt, reinsurance, loss calculations
• Classify and record various types of financial transactions required for both Statutory and GAAP financial statements
• Prepare and record monthly journal entries to include financial accruals when needed
• Reconcile balances between general ledger and insurance software
• Prepares accurate and timely general ledger account reconciliations
• Financial statement review applying variance/trend analysis

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting 3 or more years accounting experience including familiarity with insurance
• Strong general ledger reconciliation skills with attention to detail/accuracy
• High level of proficiency in Excel
