Our client, a premier consulting company, is seeking a Firewall Optimization Analyst to join their growing IT team in Philadelphia, PA. Our client is upgrading its firewall platform from Checkpoint to Juniper.

The purpose of this engagement is to provide a staff augmentation resource with the skills to assist with the following:

• Drive firewall rule optimization, to reduce the either the number of firewall rules OR the amount of hosts allowed to be reached from the internet.
• Drive VPN optimization to ensure that the VPN networks are efficient and without overlap.
• Devise a consistent plan for OIT to issue address space as part of extranets and VPNs.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to read, generate and optimize firewall rules
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP
• Strong understanding of VPNs, network address translation and network routing.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and team building abilities.

• A strong understanding of firewalls, with at least 3 years firewall experience.
• A strong understanding of the Juniper networking environment with at least 3 years of experience.
• 4-year college degree
• 5 years relevant industry experience
• Very strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of IT security risks
