    Job Description

    We are looking for an organized, detail-orientated, financially literate bookkeeper that is looking to join a team but wants flexibility in schedule and location. The position has a flexible schedule and also is predominantly remote with bi-weekly in-person meetings in or close to Woodland Hills, expected to be twenty hours each week, and will include vacation and sick pay as an employed member of the team. This person must be confident with technology - excel, CRM, merchant services dashboards, quick books online, inventory systems, etc

    The right person will be inquisitive by nature, smart, fun, and ambitious. Someone we know has the company’s best interests at heart and expects the same from us! This role will have full exposure to our commercial strategy and play a key role in how we scale our growth. We are on track to increase by 50% in 2022, so this role could have additional scope over time.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Maintain records of transactions and merchant account payouts and deposits.
    • Review and revise systems for accounts and define bookkeeping policies and procedures while also maintaining historical records and tracking.
    • Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions; and balancing subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
    • Balance general ledger by preparing a trial balance, reconciling entries, and maintaining general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
    • Accounts payable and tracking vendor payments and efficient cash flow management.
    • Monthly reconciliation for all accounts, preparing financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
    • Work with CPA on annual tax filing and submitting all required documentation.
    • Submit quarterly sales tax filings on time in two states, updating accounts and ensuring accurate rates are being charged.
    • Monthly payroll processing and filings, ensuring all state agencies are up to date and employee accounts are valid.
    • Evaluate margins and accounting ratios with leadership to ensure consistent profits and pricing.
    • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    TASK EXAMPLES:

    • Add daily merchant out payouts as bank deposits and ensure accuracy across all systems.
    • Creating and sending an invoice for a key client that has negotiated payment terms
    • Processing bills from vendors and scheduling payments
    • Tracking commission for affiliates and paying them monthly.

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

    • Quickbooks online, Stripe, online payments, and Woocommerce
    • MS Office; including Outlook, Access, Word & Excel
    • At least 3 years in Financial Management
    • Experience in inventory or supply chain logistics
    • Budget development and oversight
    • At least 3 years in a bookkeeping role
