We currently host hundreds of thousands of virtual machines and petabytes of data for our customers around the world.  We are seeking a talented Systems Software Engineer to create and maintain integrations between our hardware and APIs. 

In this role, you will work on some of our most interesting challenges and help us bring new products to the market . You will be able to identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks, be the Linux guru of the product development team, and intimately understand the overall software stack that makes us tick - including a deep understanding of the Linux kernel, KVM, QEMU, and Networking.

TECHNOLOGIES

You don't have to have experience with all of these, but you should have experience with some of them and an interest to learn others

• Debian, KVM, QEMU 
• Perl, Golang (Go), Bash, Python, C
• SaltStack
• Ceph, RADOS
• MySQL
• Git

Must haves:

• 3+ years of experience in software development and/or systems engineering
• Deep understanding of Linux
• Working knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP/S and BGP
• Educated views on technology and software design to bring to the table
• A Love for Linux

Nice-to-haves:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field 
• Contributions to open-source projects as well as your own projects 
• Systems Architecture and Design Skills
• Knowledge of servers, switches, and various infrastructure management solutions
• Comfort maintaining live production systems
• Experience in a hosting environment or other IAAS or SAAS provider
