    Job Description

    As a FULL STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER focused on getting the best books into the hands of every customer, you will play a crucial role in powering the digital experiences across our apps and websites. You will focus on building APIs and systems around our subscription club products, collaborating with developers on other platforms (e.g iOS and Android), and sometimes building UIs on the web. This role will join our Kid's Product Engineering team to support the growth of our core product here at Literati! You will play a critical part in optimizing our current product that has seen record-breaking growth this year, as well as build a ton of new features and products.

    YOU’RE GOOD AT:

    • Building and developing web applications you’re proud to show-off to other Engineers.
    • Designing APIs that enable new features across different UIs and platforms.
    • Effective/efficient communication with design, product, and QA.
    • Collaborating with product owners, designers, and other engineering to transform theoretical ideas to working code.

     

    YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL LOOK LIKE: 

    • Working with product owners/managers across the company, you’ll participate in sprint grooming, planning, and retrospective sessions.
    • Working with mobile and web developers, you will determine which API changes need to be made in order to deliver new features that delight Literati users and implement these changes as necessary.
    • Working with data/ML teams, you will help find new ways for customers to communicate their preferences and match people with their next favorite book
    • Working with Engineering, you’ll incorporate your expertise into our overall Engineering craft to achieve efficient delivery of our software products to market.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    YOU WILL NEED:

    • 2+ years general experience working on software development projects.
    • Experience with HTML, CSS & JavaScript 
    • Experience with at least one backend web framework (e.g Python/Django, Ruby on Rails)
    • Demonstrated experience with common tools such as Git, Clubhouse/Jira, etc.;
    • Experience with Literati’s tech stack (Python/Django, React) is a big plus.
