Busy General Practice Firm in Essex County/ Newark is actively seeking an experienced Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Immigration, and Criminal Defense Attorney to join our growing law practice.
Job Type: Full-time 8 am to 5 pm (8-hour shift). Weekends may be required, especially at the beginning of employment.
Experience: legal practice: 5-10 years (Required)
License/Certification: NJ Bar (NJ Required; NY Bar is a plus)
Skills and Qualifications:
Admission to the New Jersey Bar in good standing with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Immigration, and Criminal Defense
Ability to handle a high caseload
Detail-oriented, organized, and quick
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred; Portuguese is a plus
Experience with Immigration, Criminal, Landlord/Tenant, Personal Injury, Workmen's Compensation, Family Law (divorce, child support, custody, TRO, etc.), Real Estate, Wills and Trusts, Municipal, and other areas of law
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent public speaking skills
Ability to work cases either independently or as part of a team, to develop case strategies
MUST have a driver's license and be computer literate.
Attorneys' Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide Representation at Civil/Criminal Hearings/Immigration
Conduct interviews, depositions, and trials
Drafting and submitting motions, complaints, answers, forms, and briefs in addition to other court/client correspondence
Conducting complex legal research and case-specific analysis
Salary: Six-figure salary
Pay: Starting at (around) $110,000.00 per year, depending on experience.
