Job Description
We are seeking to fill a paralegal position responsible for managing a docket of active litigation files under supervision of trial attorneys. Preferably, the right candidate will have experience with personal injury, medical malpractice and/or elder abuse & neglect cases and be able to assist in management, organization and analysis of medical records.
This position requires familiarity with California Code of Civil Procedure filing deadlines and requirements. The applicant must be able to quickly and correctly respond to and propound discovery; set up meetings with clients (bilingual is a plus); familiarize self with case issues and client medical treatment; read, analyze and summarize medical records adequately.
Trial preparation is mandatory for this position, including preparation of litigation exhibit binders, trial documents and motions in limine.
The applicant must be well-versed in preparation of motions, oppositions to Motions for Summary Judgment, Separate Statements, Statements of Damages and all aspects of litigation pleadings.
Excellent grammar, typing, and writing skills are a must. This is an active position for an experienced and congenial candidate.
At present, our office is working remotely with plans to maintain the work-at-home set-up for the foreseeable future. This requires the candidate to be a self-starter and highly organized, and willing to take initiative.
