Responsibilities: This is a hybrid litigation position focused on: • Real estate disputes • Probate and trust litigation • Contract and title conflicts This is not a passive support role. You will be the operational driver behind active litigation files involving: • Real estate disputes • Probate and trust litigation • Contract and title conflicts If the attorney is the strategist, you are the execution engine. You must: • Track deadlines before anyone asks • Build structure into every file from day one • Anticipate problems before they surface • Ensure nothing falls through the cracks We protect serious matters. That requires serious organization. What You’ll Do Case Management (Core Function) • Open and structure litigation files correctly from intake • Create case timelines and litigation roadmaps • Track Michigan Court Rule deadlines • Manage probate statutory notice requirements • Maintain hearing calendars and internal tickler systems • Ensure service of process is completed properly Drafting & Filing • Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, and probate petitions • Prepare discovery requests and responses • Draft subpoenas and coordinate service • E-file in Michigan state and probate courts • Prepare proposed orders and judgments Real Estate Litigation Support • Organize deeds, mortgages, land contracts, title documents • Prepare exhibits for quiet title and boundary cases • Track redemption periods and statutory deadlines • Assist with foreclosure-related disputes Probate & Trust Litigation Support • Draft petitions for removal, objections, and accountings • Track fiduciary compliance deadlines • Organize estate asset documentation • Coordinate communication with fiduciaries and beneficiaries Discovery & Trial Preparation • Manage document production • Organize deposition summaries • Prepare trial notebooks and exhibit lists • Coordinate witnesses and hearing logistics Client Coordination • Collect required documents efficiently • Provide status updates under attorney supervision • Maintain professionalism during emotionally sensitive disputes • Keep clients informed without creating false expectations What “Ahead of the Case” Means Here At Soble Law, “ahead” means: • Drafts are ready before deadlines approach. • Missing documents are identified early. • Hearing binders are prepared days in advance. • Attorneys walk into court fully organized. • Clients feel informed and confident. Qualifications: Qualifications • 2+ years of litigation experience required • Real estate or probate litigation experience strongly preferred (PI or Ins. Def. background helpful) • Working knowledge of appropriate Court Rules • Excellent writing and formatting skills • Close attention to detail • Ability to manage multiple active litigation files • Strong organizational discipline You must be comfortable with responsibility.
