Responsibilities: • Manage reasonable caseload of civil litigation and trust litigation matters, from beginning to end. • Perform legal research and work with attorneys to develop and present legal arguments. • Complete legal forms and draft documents, including pleadings, discovery and responses, motions, status reports, settlement agreements, and other case filings. • Manage the discovery and litigation calendar and track deadlines. • Ensure attorneys are prepared for court appearances through trial and assist in the courtroom. • Interact with clients, court clerks, probate examiners, opposing parties, and opposing counsel. • Minimum billable hours: 1,400 per year for full-time (we expect high-quality work). Qualifications: • Must meet Business & Professions Code 6450-6456 definition of Paralegal. • 3+ years of recent hands-on experience with cases filed in California courts; probate court experience is a plus. • Working knowledge of the California Rules of Court and Code of Civil Procedure is a must. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/365 required. • Familiarity with Clio Grow and Clio Manage is preferred. • Outstanding attention to detail, superior communication skills, and practical organizational skills are important for this position. Compensation: $30 - $35 hourly
