    Key Responsibilities

Support attorneys through the full litigation lifecycle — from petition through judgment and post-judgment proceedings, including tax sale readiness review and coordination with necessary parties to schedule properties for tax sale accurately and timely.

Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, orders, notices, exhibits, and correspondence to clients, attorneys, and the court.

Maintain attorney calendars and court dockets; track all upcoming deadlines and ensure associated tasks are completed timely.

Manage e-filing, discovery, scheduling, and document production.

Perform legal research using LEXIS, Westlaw, and other computer-assisted research tools; organize and store findings clearly and concisely.

Compile and analyze information from multiple sources, reporting findings using charts, statistics, and other tools as needed.

Handle document management, including document review, Bates labeling, and organization.

Develop and maintain systems to track client information and settlement statements; assist with document acquisition, review, and analysis.

Obtain good standing certificates, existence certificates, tax certificates, and similar materials from the Secretary of State, Comptroller, and other government offices.

Prepare deposition, motion, and hearing notebooks.

Support trial preparation, including trial notebooks, witness coordination, affidavit preparation, and retrieval and service of real estate and probate filings.

Run conflict checks, open new client engagements, and complete case intake data entry as needed.

Handle confidential and time-sensitive material with discretion.

    Qualifications and Skills

Four-year college degree and/or ABA-approved paralegal certification required.

Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, with knowledge of Texas state court procedures.

Working knowledge of real estate, property tax, and mortgage foreclosure practice areas strongly preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe.

Familiarity with law firm case management software (e.g., Clio) a plus.

Strong legal writing, drafting, and proofreading skills.

Solid understanding of technical legal terminology and court filing procedures.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet last-minute deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills with clients, witnesses, experts, and peers.
