A highly regarded law firm in San Diego, CA is currently seeking skilled applicants for their opening as a Litigation Paralegal. This is a long term contract position with the potential to go temp-to-hire based on performance. This role is located with a boutique law firm that has a strong focus on commercial litigation, insolvency, bankruptcy litigation, & creditor's rights. They provide comprehensive legal services to corporate and municipal clients, financial institutions, & individuals across various industries.

• $45/hour contract pay
• Hybrid in San Diego (2-3 days per week in-office) (Open to remote candidates with a strong grasp of California bankruptcy law)
• Open to Full-Time or Part-Time

Job Summary:

The Litigation Paralegal will work alongside attorneys to support all stages of the litigation process, from case inception through trial and appeal. This role will involve assisting with drafting documents, managing case files, and ensuring compliance with court procedures, local rules and deadlines. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have excellent communication skills, and be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys in preparing for trial by drafting pleadings, discovery documents, motions, and other legal documents.
• Prepare and file documents with state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with local rules and deadlines.
• Organize and maintain case files, including discovery documents, correspondence, and evidence.
• Coordinate with expert witnesses, clients, and other third parties to gather information and documents.
• Assist with deposition preparation and trial preparation, including creating trial binders and exhibits.
• Manage case deadlines and ensure that all procedural requirements are met.
• Assist in e-discovery and document review as required.
• Prepare amortization tables, default judgment packages, proofs of claim, and other court forms for filing.
• Complete daily, thorough and accurate timekeeping and billing entries.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or Paralegal Certificate required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in litigation support, preferably in business litigation and bankruptcy.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules, procedures, and filing requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Clio, and WestLaw.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize, manage deadlines, and work under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.

Lawyers On Demand/Consilio offers non-attorney flexible talent placement rates that range from $15 to $100 per hour depending upon experience level and specific skills requested by the client, the candidate’s general skill set, the applicability of candidate's skill set to client need, client budget, number of hours requested, and other factors. A specific rate of pay for a project will be discussed with you if it is determined that you are a potential fit for a role.
