An established Atlanta defense practice is seeking a Litigation Paralegal or Legal Assistant to support a large team of 10+ attorneys handling insurance defense, medical malpractice, and mixed civil litigation cases. This role requires someone proactive who takes ownership—tracking deadlines, anticipating next steps, and keeping attorneys organized in a fast-moving environment. The position involves managing a busy caseload with no travel required, utilizing tools like Odyssey, PACER, and various legal software.

Responsibilities

• Draft and revise pleadings, motions, discovery, and subpoenas
• File documents in Georgia state and federal courts using Odyssey and PACER
• Manage calendars and track litigation deadlines
• Organize case files and supporting documentation
• Assist with depositions, hearings, and trial preparation
• Coordinate scheduling with clients and counsel
• Review legal documents and correspondence
• Utilize Microsoft Office and legal case management software for document automation and organization

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies or related field
• Paralegal Certification
• Civil litigation experience
• Familiarity with Georgia court procedures
• Experience with PACER and Odyssey Case Manager
• Strong legal research and document management skills
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
