Job Description
Soule & Stull is seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our team. The candidate will assist attorneys in all stages of litigation, from case inception through trial. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years experience in a litigation firm and possess leadership and organizational skills, desire to learn, and strong work ethic, including dependability, accountability, and attention to detail. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to providing high-level customer service, ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment, and enjoy working on a small team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and briefs
- Organize and maintain case files using document management systems (NetDocs, Azure, Caret Legal)
- Conduct legal research on case-specific issues
- Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, witnesses, and court personnel
- File court documents electronically
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently
- Attend trial (occasional travel required)
- Collaborate with colleagues to understand client needs and requirements
- Anticipate and respond to changing situations; encourage and help others to do the same
- Effectively manage conflicting priorities; this involves organizing your workflow, and teaming with colleagues to accomplish tasks and balance workloads
- Proactively notify the appropriate individual on issues of quality, confidentiality, or risk
Requirements:
- Paralegal certificate or Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience as a Paralegal litigating cases from start to finish
- Proficiency in legal drafting and document management systems
- Knowledge of litigation procedures, and ideally product liability law
- Excellent writing skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in conducting legal research using online databases
Soule & Stull is a civil litigation law firm. We are located near Hwy 100 and 70th Street in Edina/Minneapolis. The firm focuses on product liability and commercial litigation, coordinates product liability litigation nationwide, provides ADR services, and counsels manufacturers on product safety issues.
