Position Overview:
- The U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO) for the Northern District of Texas, The Litigation Support Specialists will support ongoing criminal prosecutions in the USAO's Litigation Technology Unit (LTU) in Dallas, TX.
- They will be responsible for supporting the eDiscovery needs of attorneys and support staff and implementing the USAO's best practices related to Discovery and data workflow.
Experience Required:
- 3+ years of experience in litigation support, electronic discovery, and/or technology support environment, preferably within the Government, but a law firm or top eDiscovery vendor is also acceptable.
- Experience with eDiscovery technical experience in compiling, analyzing, and synthesizing information to support project task requirements.
- Experience in managing multiple tasks as defined in the Duties & Responsibilities.
- Experience performing Administrator and Case Manager functions in Relativity.
- Experience with providing end-user support on all Litigation Support applications, including but not limited to assisting with end-user training.
- Experience with Relativity, Nuix, Concordance, IPRO Eclipse, Cloud Nine Law, Beyond Compare, and other applicable eDiscovery software platforms.

- An understanding of the litigation lifecycle and electronic discovery/document review processes, procedures, and practices.
Tasks:
- Provide consulting services to litigation teams in areas such as early case assessment, ESI collection, ESI processing, review and analysis of ESI, and production of ESI and other documents.
- Advise litigation teams on the use of the USAO's Technology Assisted Review (TAR) tools and compliance with discovery obligations, litigation decisions, trial preparation, and trial presentation.
- Perform a wide range of analysis and processing of electronically stored information (ESI) in support of district litigation activities.
- Perform hands-on file manipulation, loading, and conversion services.
- Assist with coordination and collaboration with client agencies to ensure proper collection, review, preservation, and provision of ESI to investigative teams.
- Organize documents for efficient automated storage and retrieval by preparing, processing, and loading ESI into discovery databases using specialized procedures and appropriate eDiscovery software.
- Review ESI obtained in discovery for data integrity, completeness, and corruption, identifying and implementing corrective action.
- Ensure ESI is properly gathered, reviewed, and prepared for disclosure to opposing parties in discovery.
- Assist the LTU with the analysis of documents, data management, and litigation support requirements to recommend appropriate strategies.
- Organize case information for efficient retrieval through automated means like scanning, indexing, and controlling documents/data into a database.
- Utilize various eDiscovery and Automated Legal Support software (e.g., NUIX, Cloud Nine Law PreDiscovery, IPRO eScanlt and Eclipse SE, LexisNexis CaseMap, TimeMap, Relativity, and similar software).
- Assist the LTU and case team with the setup and training of IPRO Trial Director and similar software for evidence presentation.
- Create, convert, organize, and extract information from various sources, including creating searchable PDF portfolios from paper or native files using Adobe software.
- Input and organize paper or electronic files into Relativity, Eclipse SE, CaseMap, or other litigation support software.
- Input native email files (with metadata) into appropriate eDiscovery programs, duplicating them, and extracting relevant information.
- Transfer ESI from one eDiscovery program to another.
- Assist case teams with the creation of hosted web sites for e-Discovery review.
- Create logs, reports, or summaries using eDiscovery software (e.g., Relativity, Eclipse SE, CaseMap, TimeMap).
- Conduct document searches using advanced artificial intelligence tools.
Security Clearances Required:
- Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Public Trust Clearance.
- Must have a clean credit report and satisfactorily complete a criminal background check prior to starting work, including a favorable Federal Bureau of Investigation name and fingerprint check with renewal every five years.
- Must meet DOJ residency requirement: for three of the five years immediately prior to applying for a security clearance, must have resided in the United States, worked for the United States overseas in a federal or military capacity, or be a dependent of a Federal or military employee serving overseas.
Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Three years of additional, directly relevant work experience (over and above the minimum experience requirements for this position) may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.
