    Job Summary: The Litigation Paralegal provides critical support to attorneys in all phases of personal injury litigation, from case inception through trial and settlement. This role is responsible for case management, document drafting, legal research, and coordination with clients, medical providers, and opposing counsel. This role ensures efficient case progression by managing discovery, preparing pleadings, organizing evidence, and assisting with trial preparation.

    Key Job Responsibilities

    • Administrative * Organize Attorney's schedules and provide timely reminders to meet deadlines. * Maintain and organize case files, both electronically and physically.
    • Case Management * Assist attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests. * Track case progress, deadlines, and ensure compliance with court procedures. * Review medical records, police reports, and other critical case evidence. * Assist attorneys in settlement negotiations, including preparing demand letters and settlement agreements. * Prepare case summaries and research memos for attorney review.
    • Legal Document Preparation * Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents. * Prepare and review correspondence to clients, insurance companies, and opposing counsel. * Ensure proper formatting, citations, and legal accuracy of documents.
    • Client Communication & Support * Serve as the main point of contact for clients, keeping them informed about case progress. * Coordinate and schedule depositions, expert witness meetings, and medical evaluations. * Conduct witness interviews and assist in preparing testimony summaries.
    • Legal Research & Analysis * Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and procedural rules.
    • Litigation Preparation & Support * Prepare trial exhibits, witness lists, and case binders. * Coordinate logistics for hearings, mediations, and court appearances. * Assist attorneys during trial by organizing documents and tracking evidence. * Summarize deposition transcripts and organize exhibits for hearings or trial.

    Key Skills

    • Knowledge of personal injury litigation processes and court procedures
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a legal team
    • Proficient in legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a litigation paralegal or paralegal assistant
    • Experience in Personal Injury, Worker’s Compensation, Premises, or other injury related practice areas
    • Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal certificate preferred
