Little Explorers Early Learning Academy ~ Making the World a Better Place One Child at a Time.

One year olds... where to begin? Some people think "they're one, they don't learn; just let them play!" but that's absolutely not the case. Even when one year olds are "just playing" they are learning. They've only been on earth for one year - EVERYTHING is new to them so they are learning something new EVERY SINGLE DAY! They are literally one of the best ages and we have some of the absolute CUTEST and SWEETEST one year olds in our school who need a kind, gentle, artistic teacher with a nurturing spirit.

Working at Little Explorers is not like working at your typical, cookie cutter, corporate daycare center. Our goal here is to help children develop into their best selves. We want to create young individuals who are well-rounded, kind, independent thinkers with the ability and drive to make the world a better place. We do this by creating a secure, engaging, and enjoyable environment that promotes learning through play, exploration (hence the name - Little Explorers!), and hands-on experiences. We pride ourselves on being these young minds' home-away-from-home and our Little Explorers thrive in our warm and comforting environment that we provide.

Job Requirements for our One Year Old Teacher position:

MUST LOVE KIDS!!!!

An understanding of one year old child development and milestones.

Comfortable and able to get down on the floor and engage the one year olds at their level.

A strong stomach - inevitably there are some...yucky situations... sometimes (mostly boogers and different smells) and having the ability to identify immediately who or what a smell is coming from is a MAJOR BONUS.

Don't worry! You will quickly develop a high level of comfort talking about different bodily functions!

Multi-tasking ability is a MUST; prepare yourself to be able to handle meltdowns and interpret crying, pointing and lots of other emotional cues to figure out what is wrong/happened, all while making sure the rest of the class is okay.

Comfortable with using a variety of different teaching methods and willing to accept any pointers from other teachers to help make the classroom run smoothly.

Happy to spend time outdoors in all weather conditions.

The one year olds love silliness; so the sillier you can be, the better in this field!
