    ROLE SUMMARY

    The Swim Coach position at Little Kickers Swim School is the most important and demanding role within the company. A highly valued and continually evolving role, Swim Coaches are the backbone of Little Kickers. A Swim Coach will be responsible for conducting swim lessons for students at varying ages and skill levels.

    REPORTS TO

    This role reports directly to the Aquatic Specialists and Aquatics Director.

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Teaching Responsibilities

    Energetically and confidently provide swimming lessons in accordance with the methods and techniques outlined by Little Kickers Swim School management while maintaining student safety as the number one priority.

    Provide a safe and welcoming environment for children at all times.

    Check schedule in software system the night before and morning of each day to prep for schedule changes.

    Arrive on time for each scheduled shift.

    Show up for every scheduled shift.

    Be prepared before a lesson begins:

    Be ready to teach in an appropriate swimsuit.

    Adequately hydrated and fed.

    Appropriate equipment and toys are ready for your lessons. (Little Kickers will provide the toys, goggles, flippers, kickboards, and noodles as needed) * Effectively and efficiently communicate with parents on the progress of students.

    Effectively communicate any no-shows or client concerns to appropriate personnel.

    Maintain physical well being to ensure personal safety while in the workplace.

    Encourage and progress each swimmer’s abilities in a fun and safe way.

    Maintain updated skills sheets on each student.

    Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned. (i.e. taking underwater photos of children, unexpected maintenance or cleaning, substituting, etc.).

    Attend company meetings, orientations, and trainings.

    Attend team meets when appropriate.

    Develop teaching skills through continuous education, training and shadowing fellow employees.

    Act as greeter to all clientele entering the swim school:

    Greet clients as they enter.

    High five and “good job” all students before they leave.

    Ensure all students receive a tattoo or lollipop prior to leaving.

    Provide friendly service at all times.

    Perform opening, closing, and maintenance duties as assigned by supervisors and as necessary.

    Assist in maintaining a clean and safe pool environment for clients, staff, and general public.

    Help prep and clean the pool deck.

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS

    High School diploma or G.E.D with past aquatics experience a plus.

    Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

    Must show interest in gaining knowledge and training for swim instruction and safety.

    Excellent customer service and communication skills required.

    Desire to grow and seek personal development.

    Must have a passion for the water and working with children.

    Constantly stay abreast of industry trends and new stroke techniques.

    Knowledge of general safety rules and precautions related to a swimming pool environment.

    Must have professional demeanor and appearance.

    Must have ability to perform the duties of a rigorous work schedule which includes lifting, loading, and unloading, and ability maneuver up to 40 lbs.

    Dependable motor vehicle transportation a must.

    Ability to work in and around swimming pools with exposure to chlorinated and chemically treated water.

    Ability to function and focus through moderate noise levels.

    Knowledge of methods of rescue, life saving techniques, artificial respiration, and first aid a plus.

    Possessing certifications in the following a plus:

    Lifeguard Training

    First Aid

    CPR Certification for the Professional Rescuer
