DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL

We are looking for a dedicated support staff member who is ready to make a difference in the life of an individual with intellectual disabilities and/or autism while in their homes and in the community. This person will be responsible for supporting and working with one specific individual.

General Summary: As a direct support professional, your main goal is to empower our adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live active and fulfilling lives in their own homes and local community while assisting them with the activities of daily living.

Our consumer: The consumer you will be supporting lives an independent lifestyle. They live with their mother full-time. Their mother drops them off in the community in Camp Hill or New Cumberland. On Fridays, they volunteer at their church in Harrisburg. The consumer needs a DSP for 8 hours a week to provide companionship and to take them home at the end of the day. They are also working with a job's coach to find employment.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of 18 years of age

Minimum high school diploma or GED

Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license (out of state license must be converted to a Pennsylvania license within 6 months of hire)

Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug screening, criminal background check, and driver history check

Salary: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

Monday and Friday, 8 hours per week: 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Location: Harrisburg, PA
