Loan Boarding Specialist

A well-established financial institution is seeking a Loan Boarding Specialist to join its Credit Risk Management team. This position is based on-site at the corporate office in Novato, California.

The Loan Boarding Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely onboarding of new and renewed loans into the FIS loan servicing system. This role plays a key part in maintaining data integrity, regulatory compliance (including HMDA and CRA), and ensuring seamless loan servicing operations. The ideal candidate will have a sharp attention to detail, a solid understanding of loan documentation, and experience processing monetary transactions related to loan funding and disbursements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review loan boarding packages for completeness, signatures, and accuracy; organize documents in correct stacking order and file accordingly.

• Enter loan, note, and commitment details into the servicing system following established procedures and compliance guidelines.

• Verify loan rates, disbursement instructions, and special conditions; complete the boarding worksheet and validate data accuracy.

• Process monetary transactions, including funding, fee disbursements, and lien perfection for various collateral types.

• Respond to inquiries from loan officers and internal teams regarding boarding details and loan documentation through various channels (email, phone, in-person).

Qualifications:

• 2–4 years of related experience in loan operations or financial services.

• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Strong knowledge of financial principles, loan systems, and regulatory standards.

Compensation:

• Hourly pay range: $28-$33, based on experience, location, and qualifications.
