    Loan Closing Specialist

    Full-Time, Monday–Friday, Non-Exempt / Hourly 8 am-4:30 p m

    ** $19-24/HR; Compensation based on experience**

    Job Summary:

    The Loan Closing Specialist (LCS) plays an integral part in Milwaukee Habitat's mission to provide affordable housing solutions by coaching homebuyers through the closing process. The LCS works with homebuyers to collect, analyze, and review supporting loan documentation. The LCS also works as the point of contact while our homebuyers are going through the last part of our home-buying program by preparing all loan documents and disclosures, as well as facilitating the completion of real estate loan closings.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Process loan applications in accordance with established policies and procedures
    • Perform basic income calculations, assets, and collateral documentation in accordance with established policies.
    • Complete and maintain state and federal loan originator certifications.
    • Prepare file close-out for post-closing compliance and funding audits
    • Submit a complete and accurate loan application package to lending partners for review
    • Prepare all documentation required for closing
    • Submit paperwork for down-payment subsidies and assistance programs.
    • Conduct partner family final countdown to closing education meetings.

    Required Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • 2-5 years’ experience in mortgage lending, including file and document preparation.
    • Proficient with MS Office, Google Products & CRM systems
    • A valid Wisconsin Driver's License and a clean driving record
    • Excellent verbal and written communication across teams and management levels

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • ABA certification
    • Familiarity with Salesforce
    • Mortgage servicing experience
    • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry
    • Experience working with a diverse population
    • Commitment to confidentiality and professional representation
