    Job Description Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and energetic Loan Officer to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will be responsible for taking thorough loan applications through all delivery channels including; phone, video, chat, text, online, and in-person. Cross-selling all credit union ancillary products and other services when in the members best interest; be thorough in documenting application notes to send to underwriting and be reviewed for a decision; and maintain safety and security of our members, our employees, and the credit union assets by adhering to regulations, policies, and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • Exercises good judgment and decision-making skills using credit union policy and procedures and obtaining appropriate approval on items exceeding established authority.
    • Interview loan applicants and provide information on loan products and alternative products that best meet the member’s needs. Request and review all required information and documentation to secure a loan.
    • Assure the team safeguards member information while always maintaining total confidentiality, inside and outside of work.
    • Remains current in laws and regulations and follows appropriate policies and procedures.
    • Makes recommendations for improvement of security of member information, data, and physical environment.
    • Demonstrates initiative by completing required items for personal and professional development.
    • Enhances visibility within the community by supporting and participating in community events.
    • Assists in and supports marketing efforts for the credit union.
    • Assists with maintaining facility appearance.
    • Completes special projects as assigned.
    • Assist member in completing loan applications over the phone and/or electronically. Obtain and evaluate credit reports.
    • Recommend and outline terms of loan. Inform prospective borrowers of loan commitments.
    • Determine collateral needs and payment plans for members applying for loans.
    • Notify applicant of loan decision. Correspond with members, applicants, and creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
    • Handle a variety of loans simultaneously while communicating with members in a timely manner.
    • Train new consumer loan officers, and assist more junior consumer loan officers with questions, challenges, etc.
    • Resolves member complaints, data conflicts, and ensures proper pipeline management of loans.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Qualifies as MLO and complies with registration process for NMLS listing.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay : $23.50 - $24.00 per hour
