  • Responsibilities

    Position Overview

    We are hiring CDL-A drivers for a local intermodal position based out of Ayer, MA (Lancaster terminal). This role offers daily home time, consistent freight, and steady work hauling containers to and from rail ramps within a 250-mile radius.

    Requirements

    • Valid CDL-A license
    • Must meet all DOT safety and employment requirements
    • Must be willing to obtain Hazmat endorsement within 60 days of hire (cost reimbursed with receipt)
    • Must have reliable transportation to and from the terminal

    Job Details

    • Home Time: Daily
    • Operating Area: Within a 250-mile radius of Ayer, MA
    • Primary Location: Ayer/Worcester, MA rail ramps
    • Terminal Location: Lancaster, MA
    • Freight Type: Intermodal containers
    • Equipment: Day cab trucks (slip seat operation)
    • Schedule: 24/7 operation (shared equipment)
    • NYC: No New York City deliveries

    Work Duties

    • Run containers to and from rail ramps and customer locations
    • All freight originates or terminates in the Ayer/Worcester, MA area
    • Maintain safe and efficient operations in rail yard environments

    Compensation & Additional Details

    • Hazmat endorsement costs reimbursed (including fingerprinting and threat assessment fees with receipt)
    • Consistent, year-round freight
    • No passengers or riders allowed
    • Uniforms required

    Benefits & Time Off

    • Paid Time Off + Holidays:
      • 0–1 year: 18 paid days (12 PTO + 6 holidays)
      • 1–5 years: 22 paid days
      • 6–13 years: 27 paid days
      • 14–18 years: 30 paid days
      • 19+ years: 32 paid days
    • PTO and holiday pay based on hourly rate and tenure
