    Job Description

    LOCAL PROJECTS, a National Design Award winning experience design studio located in the Downtown Seaport area of Manhattan, is looking for a high energy self-starter Assistant on our Operations team. This is a great opportunity to learn how to support a fast-paced design and technology studio while building career experience in the world of interactive design and media production.

    A successful Assistant will be interested in general operations management in a creative environment. We are looking for a whole-brain thinker, with excellent research, writing and communication skills. You must be curious, proactive, organized and self-motivated. You work well both independently and as part of a team and have no problem pitching in and wearing many hats as necessary while leaving your ego at the door. Your ability to follow through, self manage and hold yourself accountable are essential attributes.

    You will play an important role in supporting company leadership across a wide range of tasks and initiatives that drive company evolution, culture and growth.

    This assistant reports to the Head of People and Culture with a dotted line to the Managing Director and the Director of Project Management.

    • Support the Head of People and Culture with the day to day management of processes

    • Provide support for a wide array of HR initiatives

    • Coordinate interviews and follow up with hiring managers

    • Maintain applicant status changes through our applicant portal

    • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding

    • Lead Intern recruitment

    • Assist with administering various HR processes:Performance Planning, Time Off,

    • Take meeting minutes, distill and disseminate action items as directed

    • Research a wide range of topics as assigned.

    • Distill and disseminate research findings as directed into spreadsheets/databases/presentations

    • Participate in and help to create HR Initiatives and Learning Development opportunities based on the needs of the business/teams

    • Assist with Local Projects culture including coordination of events, creative presentations, lunch and learns and celebrations

    • Organization of a wide array of digital information in company drives

    • Act as administrative backup to the Studio Manager as directed by HR

    REQUIREMENTS

    • MS Office (including Excel, Word, Keynote)

    • Experience with Google Suite products (Mail, Google Drive, Google sheets etc.)

    • Exercises care and discretion with sensitive and confidential information

    • Strong interpersonal skills

    • Organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality

    • Ability to multitask in a very fast paced environment

    • Excellent communication (verbal and written) & listening skills

    • Is structured, proactive and is excellent at time management

    EXPERIENCE:

    • 2-3 years of experience working in an administrative position
