    Position Overview

    CLFC Healthcare and Communications is building its South Carolina locum physician roster to provide as-needed general and specialty medical coverage at state agency facilities. Selected physicians join a qualified-provider list and accept per-assignment engagements based on availability and facility need.

    This is flexible, per-assignment locum work for MD or DO physicians who want to control their own schedule while supporting public-sector clinical care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform history and physical examinations and establish diagnoses.
    • Provide treatment, chronic disease management, and sick-call coverage.
    • Write orders and prescriptions consistent with scope and facility formulary.
    • Coordinate care with nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
    • Document encounters in the facility electronic health record per protocol.

    Required Qualifications

    • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
    • Active South Carolina medical license, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to assignment.
    • Board certification or board eligibility.
    • Active DEA registration.
    • Ability to clear required background screening.

    Strongly Preferred Qualifications

    • Family medicine, internal medicine, or correctional health experience.
    • Specialty board certification for premium specialty assignments.
    • Immediate or near-term availability for assignment.

    Compensation and Engagement Details

    • Hourly rate range: $109 to $132 per hour (1099 independent contractor) for general assignments; specialty assignments are compensated at higher per-assignment rates.
    • As-needed engagement; you accept assignments based on your availability.
    • CLFC provides credentialing coordination, scheduling, and administrative support.
