Locum Tenens Primary Care Physician
****We are seeking a dedicated Locum Tenens Primary Care Physician (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine) to support outpatient clinics serving our nation's Veterans in Houston, Texas. This is a unique opportunity to work in a mission-driven, team-based environment that focuses on quality care—without inpatient responsibilities or on-call demands.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- No weekends, nights, or call requirements
- Long-term and short-term assignments available
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive outpatient care to adult Veterans in a primary care setting
- Manage acute and chronic medical conditions, preventive care, and routine health maintenance
- Collaborate with the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT), including RNs, pharmacists, social workers, and behavioral health professionals
- Utilize the VA's CPRS electronic medical record system for all documentation
- Follow established clinical protocols and federal guidelines
- Maintain timely, complete, and accurate medical documentation
Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Active, unrestricted license in any U.S. state or territory
- U.S. Citizenship required (due to federal contract regulations)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Previous experience with the VA or federal healthcare systems is a plus
