    Job Description

    Scottsdale-based company that supports Financial Services firms is offering the position of Information Technology (IT) Jr. Systems Administrator to qualified candidates. This will be a great opportunity for someone that is hungry, humble, and smart looking to learn and thrive. The position will be responsible for responding to, documenting, and resolving service tickets in a timely manner according to the established Service Level Agreement (SLA). The candidate must have excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose, evaluate and resolve complex issues, or when appropriate, escalate or route them to appropriate IT staff members.

    The candidate will also perform root cause analysis, develop checklists for characteristic problems and recommend procedures and controls for problem prevention once trained. This position will support multiple platforms including servers and networking equipment. This position may require independent work, sharing information and assisting others with work orders. Additionally, this position will help with SOC 2 & NIST control policies/procedures, and our migration into Tugboat Logic with appropriate training.

    While our firm currently focuses on the Financial Services industry, application enhancements/modifications are currently being performed to allow us to expand our offerings to other industries in the near future.     Position is in office first 3 months and then will move to either hybrid or remote with needing to go into the office a couple times a month, therefore only Phoenix metropolitan area-based candidates need apply. No H1BA sponsorships available. Salary DOE.

    We run a SAAS web-based solution, looking for experience supporting a production environment, code changes, server configurations, log parsing while troubleshooting etc.

    JR. SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR JOB & FUTURE DUTIES ONCE TRAINED:

    • Evaluates system potential by testing compatibility of new programs with existing programs.
    • Maintain the physical and virtual server infrastructure located in the onsite data center as well as Microsoft Azure with the team.
    • Evaluates expansions or enhancements by studying work load and capacity of computer system.
    • Achieves computer system objectives by gathering pertinent data; identifying and evaluating options; recommending a course of action.
    • Confirms program objectives and specifications by testing new programs; comparing programs with established standards; making modifications.
    • Evaluates vendor-supplied software by studying user objectives; testing software compatibility with existing hardware and programs.
    • Places software into test/production by loading software into computer; editing configuration files.
    • Perform monitoring and regular maintenance to ensure that networks operate correctly.
    • Maintains historical records by documenting hardware and software changes and revisions.
    • Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks, as needed.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • 3+ years of hands-on experience working in an end-user desktop support role or computer operations environment with progressive growth
    • 1+ years experience with VMware/vCenter preferred
    • Office 365 experience
