DESCRIPTION

• The PR coordinator will be a member of a NY-based experienced team helping to formulate, execute and sustain a global press strategy for Animal Planet.
• The coordinator will help the team create innovative ways to engage broadcast, consumer, trade, digital and social press outlets with passion and creativity.
• The coordinator will also work directly with internal international press teams responsible for helping to promote Animal Planet programming and talent in more than 200 countries and territories.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Animal Planet coordinator will be responsible for coordinating press efforts between the U.S. and internal global press teams; monitoring daily press coverage; maintaining media lists; identifying key global press outlets and contacts; and assist the PR team with publicity projects and mailings.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Identify compelling video clips to use to secure digital and social press coverage
• Establish working relationships with key listings contacts
• Maintain the department's detailed press archive
• Establish and build solid working relationships with internal contacts

REQUIREMENTS

• Really love TV, pop culture and lifestyle and animal trends
• Be curious about media around the world
• Be fluent in social platforms to work effectively with the Animal Planet social media team
• Be desirous of a ‘hands on' PR role
• Appreciate the undeniable bond that exists between animals and humans and be ready to help promote and celebrate these stories with the media
