What will you be doing?
- Identifying, qualifying, and securing new customers
- Maintaining and growing business from existing and new customers
- Negotiating with customers to establish pricing, service, and mode requirements including full and less than truckload shipments, dry van, flatbed, expedited, and intermodal.
- Providing proactive communication with customers
- Performing general administrative duties necessary to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Utilizing the sales tools provided by the company to identify new prospects, track new and existing customer interactions, and capture critical customer data for marketing purposes.
- Ensuring compliance with all company policies and adherence to established company processes.
What are we looking for?
- 2+ years of prior brokerage or transportation experience with a focus on business development
- Demonstrated success in developing and growing a book of business.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player who excels in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent and effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent work ethic
- Ability to quickly process information and make decisions.
- Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills, and the ability to resolve conflict.
- General computer skills – proficiency with MS Office
- Working knowledge of US, Canada, and Mexico geography
- Minimum of a two-year college associate degree, preferably in business or logistics
- Willingness to travel
This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission.
