    Job Description

    ** Position Summary**

    This is a non-supervisory role that is responsible for analyzing day to day material needs as well as execute Purchase order requirements with vendors, or communicate transfer needs with other MBCI facilities. Duties include but are not limited to managing daily cycle count needs, receiving inbound materials in system, coordinating disposal or return of defective material, and assist team members with part number inquiries.

    Organizational Relationship

    This position reports directly to the Materials Manager.

    Accountabilities

    • Coordinate daily cycle count needs with cycle counters, make needed inventory adjustments and report results to management
    • Coordinate live unloads with carriers
    • Maintain inbound carrier log, and report container/trailer inbounds for the week
    • Receive intercompany material transfers into AS400
    • Coordinate Purchase order requirements with vendors as well as receive inbound material in AS400
    • Follow up with vendors on material shortages and make needed PO adjustments based on current inventory levels
    • Maintain “HOT List” report used to communicate intercompany transfer needs, and flag potential material shortages with DAs
    • Follow up on part inquiries from production and warehouse
    • Coordinate return or disposal of obsolete material
    • Partner with Quality Assurance to coordinate disposition of SCRAP and rejected material from vendors
    • Provide administrative office support and assist visitors with inquiries

    Characteristics & Attributes

    • Software knowledge: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), databases, etc.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and function in a team-oriented, fast-paced, matrix environment.
    • Strong communication skills - listening, verbal, written and presentation.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Education & Experience**

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required

    • Strong analytical skills

    • Microsoft word and excel proficiency is a must

    • 3-5 years’ purchasing experience

    • 3-5 years inventory management experience with an understanding of cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and inventory transactions

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting

    • 1+ years of customer service experience is required, preferably in the cabinets/woodworking industry.

    Physical Requirements

    • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves continually during working hours.
