    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Logistics Analyst (focus on Logistics Services) supports the logistics demands related to the USA VSS aftermarket operations, spanning the following types of shipments: intercompany (imports to USA), repair (import/exports/domestic), customer-related (core returns, exchanges, sales) and purchase of spare parts from suppliers. The analyst will coordinate pickups and deliveries of critical shipments, ensuring parts move according to transit times and SLAs defined by contract with carriers. The analyst maintains constant and effective communication with internal areas, carriers and brokers, aiming to minimize holds and delays. Identifies opportunities to improve the overall freight process and its interfaces with warehouse, internal areas, customers and systems. Supports and leads logistics analyses, identifying and implementing initiatives to optimize transit time and reduce processing times.

    JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

    • Supports diversified transportation demands from internal areas, such as: arranging special transportation when needed (special projects, oversize/overweight volumes, remote locations, unusual shipping requests); supporting pickup and RMAs (return material authorization requests) requests; creating shipping documents for QMs; arranging shipments between Embraer sites and warehouses; providing status and follow-up of shipments; and others.
    • Coordinates and monitors domestic and international critical shipments that require close and special attention (ex.: landing gears, APUs, oversized and overweight items, expensive parts).
    • Closely supports shipments imported to the USA when Embraer is responsible according to incoterms, monitoring the parts until warehouse receiving. Communicates with the Embraer Broker and with the Embraer Regulatory Customs Compliance team to expedite customs clearance, and ensures no shipments are held by CBP due to delayed clearance process.
    • Supports demands that require spot quotes (out-of-contractual-coverage routes and conditions). Creates documents to substantiate shipments (invoices, PRs).
    • Executes processes related to the payment of spot services, ensuring charges received by carriers follow agreed terms and conditions. Creates PRs and FRS, interacting with Finance and Accounts Payable teams to ensure on-time payments.
    • Prepares and submit claims to carriers and/or Embraer Insurance when applicable (parts damaged or lost in transit), interacting and supporting the Embraer Insurance team throughout the claim process.
    • Monitors and audits off-site storage activities, supporting the analysis of the applicable charges.
    • Leads and/or participate in strategic projects related to freight and transportation, implementing improvements in the process and operation that would either reduce costs, increase logistics efficiency or streamline the demand generation process.
    • Suggests and recommends transportation policies, helping to define which types of freight services and suppliers should be used to meet the operations requirements at the route and region level, evaluating and recommending changes to current and future logistics arrangements.
    • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics processes. Participates in performance review meetings with suppliers and supports action plans in case of low operational performance.
    • Supports the design, implementation and improvement of logistics and payment processes, seeking continuous reduction of processing time and increasing use of automated tools.
    • Supports and proposes improvements of warehouse process workflows by analyzing and developing logistics plans that impact shipping and receiving activities.
    • Interfaces with internal areas such as warehouses, planning, repair management, customer contact center, procurement and finance when executing activities, scheduling meetings, conference calls to discuss aspects of the operations.
    • Researches and implements new technologies and procedures to enhance logistics processes.

    THE AREA

    • The Logistics & Trade Control Americas team is responsible for the aftermarket logistics operations under the Services & Support (VSS) Business Unit, administrating the transportation operations that support the sale of spare parts and special programs (repair services) with customers and suppliers, ensuring at the same time regulatory customs compliance requirements are met for imports and exports. The area leads cost reduction initiatives, measures and controls the performance and quality of services provided by suppliers through metrics and indicators, schedule and monitors shipments, identifies and implements logistics process improvements, supports selection of suppliers and contract negotiations, administrates and making payments to suppliers, and ensures imports and exports follow customs compliance requirements.

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Education:

    • Required: Associate Degree.
    • Preferred: BA, BS Degree.

    Experience:

    • Ø FLSA Exempt, Intermediate Level Individual Contributor on a functional group.
    • Ø Generally 3-5 years of experience or greater in area of establishing, monitoring, and following up transportation services of spare parts agreements/contracts with vendors.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Comprehension and understanding of broad practices associated within the field assigned.
    • Applies these understandings in the completion of moderately complex work assignments
    • Knowledge of logistics and material supply processes and activities.
    • Aeronautical familiarization.
    • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a safe and professional manner.
    • Ability to coordinate project schedules and other supply chain activities, including monitoring contractual compliance with logistics service providers.
    • Intermediate (advanced preferred) knowledge in Excel is required (pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, general data manipulations and analyses).
    • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Power Point).
    • Proficient in Internet Explorer, SAP.
    • Follow company policies and procedures.
    • People management skills (HR guidelines, tools & policies).
    • Familiarization with value-based management fundamentals (Shareholder Satisfaction x Customer Satisfaction x Employee Satisfaction), employment law (sexual harassment, disability, discrimination, labor laws, etc.).
    • Familiarization with basic concepts related to statistics and planning.
    • Supports negotiation of special program contracts and contractual changes related to logistics.
