    Position Overview:

    The Logistics Center Lead is responsible for performing a variety of shipping, receiving, inventory, logistics, and general warehouse tasks while providing an expert level of customer service to internal and external customers. This position requires expert-level knowledge of internal MCPC systems and workflows and will serve as both an escalation point and a senior training resource for all Logistics staff.

     

    Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

    • Prepare shipments for postal or commercial carriers, determining the most economical and efficient shipping method based on customer requirements.

    • Select appropriate shipping containers and pack items to ensure safe delivery.

    • Prepare bills of lading and verify shipping/receiving items against work orders to ensure accuracy in quantity, destination, and routing.

    • Use scan guns to receive and pick items during the shipping process.

    • Perform basic kitting of equipment based on customer requirements.

    • Complete cycle counts within defined inventory processes and controls.

    • Receive and unload incoming materials, matching packing slips to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies using established tools and processes.

    • Inspect inbound shipments for damage or defects, document discrepancies, and notify leadership or appropriate internal teams for resolution.

    • Deliver items to requisitioning departments and obtain required signatures for accepted items.

    • Operate equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, cardboard crushers, shrink-wrap machines, and forklifts for loading, unloading, and preparing shipments or inbound inventory.

    • Operate company vehicles (box truck or van) to deliver shipments when required.

    • Assist in routine maintenance of equipment, the shipping area, and general facility.

    • Lock the warehouse and set facility alarms.

    • Maintain a secure facility at all times, monitoring inbound/outbound materials and personnel.

    • Identify and develop solutions for process improvement initiatives.

    • Create service documents, work instructions, and quality documentation as required.

    • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.

    • Provide training and support for technicians classified as learners.

    • Communicate (verbally and in writing) with project managers, sales teams, vendor partners, and customers.

    • Participate in internal departmental and project meetings.

    • Attend all training and certification classes associated with the career path.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    This hands-on, expert-level position supports the workload of the MCPC Logistics team. Existing logistics and safety certifications are required. Additional certifications or training identified by the immediate supervisor must be obtained within the first year of employment.

     

    Experience and Education Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or GED.

    • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities listed.

    • Valid driver’s license (must have fewer than 6 points to meet insurance requirements).

     

    Physical Requirements:

    This role includes occasional sitting and stooping/crouching; regular walking, standing, pushing/pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 40 lbs.; grasping and reaching; visual clarity; and infrequent climbing or crawling. Mental requirements include general intelligence, motor coordination, hand–eye–foot coordination, verbal comprehension, and numerical aptitude. Environmental conditions may include heat during summer months and exposure to dust.

     

    Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job. Duties must be performed on-site within MCPC facilities—except under extraordinary circumstances approved by management and Human Resources—to ensure collaboration, supervision, and availability of required equipment. MCPC allows four pre-approved work-from-home days annually.
