RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership to the purchasing and sourcing team. Day to day supervision of purchasing / sourcing activities and budgets.
Develops a commodity / supplier strategy for defined commodities
Ensures local requirement including Buy-America
Is responsible for supplier evaluation, selection & assessment
Negotiates long term Frame Agreements (e.g. Master Supply Agreement, Qty. Contract, Scheduling Agreement)
Drives all sourcing activities including cost down workshops at supplier
Supports supply chain cost reduction activities such as freight optimization
Has a strong focus on material cost reduction, lead time reduction, supplier performance improvement along the complete supply chain
Organizes regular performance reviews with vendors
Is responsible for claim management to the supplier
Supports in the bid process
Manages engineering changes that impact purchase materials
Ensures accuracy of purchasing data in the MRP system
Manages sourcing and supply chain related performance metrics
Participates in continuous improvement teams
