    Knorr-Bremse PowerTech USA is located in Mount Olive, NJ and manufactures power electronics equipment for rail vehicles, in particular auxiliary power supplies, battery chargers and inverters. We are looking for a qualified Strategic Sourcing Manager.

     

    The Strategic Sourcing Manager position will report to the Operations Manager. The Sourcing Manager manages the purchasing and sourcing team to ensure on time delivery of quality material that is within budget. He / she will be responsible for sourcing of suppliers (domestic & international), managing sourcing activities for new projects, cost reductions, supplier improvement activities etc. …

    Required Skills

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides leadership to the purchasing and sourcing team. Day to day supervision of purchasing / sourcing activities and budgets.

    • Develops a commodity / supplier strategy for defined commodities

    • Ensures local requirement including Buy-America

    • Is responsible for supplier evaluation, selection & assessment

    • Negotiates long term Frame Agreements (e.g. Master Supply Agreement, Qty. Contract, Scheduling Agreement)

    • Drives all sourcing activities including cost down workshops at supplier

    • Supports supply chain cost reduction activities such as freight optimization

    • Has a strong focus on material cost reduction, lead time reduction, supplier performance improvement along the complete supply chain

    • Organizes regular performance reviews with vendors

    • Is responsible for claim management to the supplier

    • Supports in the bid process

    • Manages engineering changes that impact purchase materials

    • Ensures accuracy of purchasing data in the MRP system

    • Manages sourcing and supply chain related performance metrics

    • Participates in continuous improvement teams

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:

     

    • Bachelors or Masters in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or similar discipline
    • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in sourcing or supply chain management
    • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
    • Strong goal attainment orientation with strong team spirit, accountability and respect
    • Strong leadership and analytical skills
    • Outstanding experience in negotiations
    • Demonstrated skills in supplier relationship management
    • Experienced in developing & implementing State-of-the-Art Sourcing & Supply Chain concepts
    • Technical understanding
    • Experienced to work in a multi-cultural and changing environment
    • Open for limited travel
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Experience with ERP systems (SAP is preferred)
    • CPIM or APIC training is a plus
