We are seeking a talented part-time (20 hours per week) INJURY PREVENTION SPECIALIST to support our corporate clients in ALLENTOWN, PA. In this position, you will support the creation and implementation of programs focused on the prevention of work injuries, physical conditioning, and employee education and wellness within both an office as well as a manufacturing environment. 

    *This role will follow a hybrid model, requiring you to work from a home office, and in-person onsite at our client sites located in the Allentown, PA area. 

     

    YOUR IMPACT WITHIN THIS TEAM:                

    • Conducts employee injury prevention programs, education and training including virtual ergonomic assessments and early intervention program.
    • Leads the development and implementation of interventions/programs focused on the manufacturing environment as well as office environment to meet client objectives and encourage safe working habits.
    • Research and provide educational materials to employees and participants.
    • Assists employee healthcare teams with job function assessment, incident investigation and care management.
    • Collect and evaluate program data to support ROI process, manages and reports data to assigned individuals within the program.
    • Develop, promote, and market the injury prevention program as well as wellness and general education programs.
    • Other duties as needed/assigned.

     

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

    • Physical Therapy Assistant certification OR Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Exercise Science  or 2-3 years related field experience required.
    • CPR/AED certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required.
    • Personal Training certification from ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM, NCCPT, NETA or NSCA a plus. 
    • Industry recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM or NETA a plus.
    • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
    • Demonstrated skill in program development, implementation, marketing and promotion.
    • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
    • Understanding of Biomechanics, occupational safety and work experience in a clinical environment (occupational therapy, physical therapy, cardiac rehab, nursing) a plus.
    • Will be required to follow any current or future site COVID-19 vaccination policies including but not limited to proof of vaccination, weekly testing, etc.

  • Qualifications

    Required Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
    • Minimum two to three years production experience (preferably in the food industry.
    • Work is generally performed within a manufacturing environment subjected to temperatures of cold and warm along with wearing the proper PPE, with standard office equipment available along with plant manufacturing environment.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, walk, use hands or finger, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, or controls; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision to a computer screen.
