The BU School of Public Health seeks a Writer/Editor responsible for sourcing and producing all content on school events and student/faculty news for SPH website, and weekly and monthly emails. The Editor curates content and produces SPH Today daily newsletter. The editor works with Director of Writing to source and develop content by networking with faculty, attending student and signature events. They determine best length and presentation format of articles for website and email, write all content, and choose which stories will run weekly in SPH TW in collaboration with the Director and Editor of SPH TW. The Writer/Editor works with external editorial consultant on quality, content, and style of pieces and tracks analytics to develop strategic outreach, seeks innovation and improvement in format and presentation. They generate social media content to accompany pieces. The Writer/Editor also creates other writing content as needed for the School.

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will bring exceptional interpersonal skills, a solid knowledge of editorial and social media process and management, and the ability to work off hours when needed. Solid understanding of copy editing, proofreading, social media, and writing is essential. Familiarity with AP and Chicago styles is essential.

• Bachelors degree required
• 3-5 years of experience required
