Job Summary: The Logistics Manager Specialist will provide expert logistics support to the 638th Supply Chain Management Group (SCMG) at Robins AFB, supporting squadrons such as 407 SCMS (Common Avionics), 408 SCMS (Electronic Warfare), 409 SCMS (F-15, C-130, C-5 Aircraft), 410 SCMS (Support Equipment), and 411 SCMS (Special Operations). The LMS will deliver hands-on technical expertise, guide less experienced personnel, and participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to support Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) programs and weapon system sustainment.
Responsibilities:
Perform logistics management tasks including requirements definition, performance assessment, specification development, risk assessment and mitigation, configuration and data management, product hardware/software testing, safety, quality assurance, enterprise repair, reliability and maintainability, and technology transfer/insertion.
Analyze installation and Major Command planning/programming documents to determine acquisition and sustainment efforts.
Provide guidance on logistics systems and processes, including:
Developing tactical and strategic acquisition strategies.
Utilizing systems like Requirements Approval Document (RAD), Purchase Request Process System (PRPS), Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF), Logistics Installations and Mission Support Enterprise View (LIMS-EV), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Asset Visibility, Commercial Asset Visibility Air Force (CAV-AF), and Planning for DLA Managed Consumables (PDMC)/Demand Data Exchange (DDE).
Building program continuity books, leading IPTs, applying AFSO21 8-Step Problem Solving, developing bullet background papers, retention letters/packages, and Market Research reports.
Participate in IPTs for specific weapon systems, subsystems, or programs.
Ensure deliverables meet quality standards (no more than one rejection per deliverable, three total rejections per year) and are submitted on time via WAWF (no more than two late submissions per year).
Respond to requests for assistance within 48 business hours.
Maintain no more than one validated customer complaint per quarter.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Air Force supply chain management.
Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required (no interim clearances).
Skills: Expertise in Air Force logistics systems (RAD, PRPS, WAWF, LIMS-EV, CAV-AF, PDMC/DDE), IPT leadership, and process improvement methodologies (e.g., AFSO21).
Certifications: Submit resumes and copies of relevant certifications to demonstrate qualifications.
Work Environment:
Primarily onsite at Robins AFB, co-located with 638 SCMG personnel.
Situational telework may be authorized with Contracting Officer approval, using only government-approved equipment, at no additional cost to the government.
Core hours: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, Monday–Friday; flexible hours (6:00 AM–9:00 AM, 3:00 PM–6:00 PM) permitted.
