BACKGROUND

Marine Corps Forces South (MARFORSOUTH) G-3 & G-5, has a requirement for professional support services in the specialties of exercise support, knowledge management, fiscal/ budgetary/ resource management, and training, exercise, and operational assessment analysis.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE EXERCISE SUPPORT ANALYST

As the Exercise Support Analyst, you will support MARFORSOUTH G-3 and the G-3 Exercise Plans Officer with administrative, fiscal coordination of exercise funds, travel coordination, and logistical assistance for multinational exercise and conferences.

You will also assist with coordination between MARFORSOUTH and the Military Groups, for all matters related to the coordination and monitoring of exercises within the AOR. The support will include planning conferences; arranging venues, billeting, commercial meals, transportation, and information technology for U.S. and Partner Nation (PN) personnel; and coordinating with U.S. personnel deploying to the U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) AOR, to ensure compliance with personnel recovery, force protection, rules of engagement, and area clearance requirements.

Routinely, you will be interfacing with counterparts at USSOUTHCOM, Headquarters USMC, United States Navy, and United States Country Teams located in the USSOUTHCOM AOR.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Active Secret Clearance
• SOUTHCOM AOR experience preferred
• Experience planning at the COCOM level
• MARFOR experience preferred
• Possess Defense Language Program 2/2 or greater Spanish abilities.
• The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand in English and in Spanish.
• Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience either via electronic or written mediums in English and Spanish.
• The ability to create products and presentations that communicate ideas effectively and concisely in English and in Spanish.
• Valid US driver's license
• Valid US passport
• Must obtain and maintain, for the life of the contract, the necessary credentials that are required for OCONUS travel.

HOURS OF OPERATIONS

0730 –1630 EST - Monday thru Friday except for Federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed facility closings.

TRAVEL

Travel (both CONUS and OCONUS) will be required to fulfill the requirements of the Exercise Support position.

OCONUS:

MINIMUM 3 TRIPS PER QUARTER. These trips are in support of the Initial Site Survey (ISS), Logistical Site Survey (LSS), Concept Development Conference (CDC), Initial Planning Conference (IPC), Mid Planning Conference (MPC), Final Planning Conference (FPC), Exercise Execution and In Country After Action Reviews for Exercises and Exercise related Conferences such as: UNITAS Amphibious, Marine Leaders of America Conference, Tradewinds, Security Cooperation Conference, Regional Amphibious, Key Leader Engagements.

The exact locations of these trips are currently unknown. However, ALL OCONUS TRAVEL WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE U.S. SOUTHERN COMMAND AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (AOR) OR THE CARIBBEAN.
