    A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE BUS/SHUTTLE DRIVER

    You will use your subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete varied assignments. You'll solve problems by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures.

    As the BUS DRIVER, you are responsible for the following objectives:

    • Drives bus to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to the time schedule
    • Assists passengers with baggage regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort complies with local traffic regulations and reports delays or accidents.
    • Daily inspection required of the bus/vehicle that includes: check gas, oil, tire pressure, and water before departure

    As the SHUTTLE DRIVER, you are responsible for the following objectives:

    • Drives minibus or van to transport clients, trainees, or company personnel
    • Drives vehicle from individual or central loading area to social services or rehabilitation center, training location, job site, or other destination according to assigned schedule.
    • May assist disabled passengers into and out of the vehicle, secure passengers' wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip
    • May operate radio or similar device to communicate with the base station or other vehicles to report disruption of service
    • Clean and/or service vehicle with fuel, oil, and keep records of trips and/or behavior of passengers, and perform other duties when not driving such as custodial and building maintenance tasks.

    MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Possesses and continuously maintain a current State of Kentucky Driver's License

    High School Diploma or Equivalent is required

    At the time of your interview you must:

    • be qualified and passenger endorsed (P) on your CDL
    • have proof of valid state Medical Examiner's Certificate
    • Proof of safe driving record

    A minimum of 1-year experience operating a 44-passenger bus.

    Must be able to pass and maintain a clean drug and alcohol Testing

    Must have a Class "B" CDL with passenger (P) endorsement (no endorsement testing will be provided)

    PRIMARY WORK LOCATION AND HOURS OF OPERATION

    The primary performance location is Fort Knox, KY, and its surrounding areas. Afternoon, night, and weekend work are required in this position. Pre and post trip vehicle inspection and daily cleaning of the vehicle is required.
