    BACKGROUND

    The Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth and its associated (7) Branch Medical Clinics (BMC), (11) Dental Treatment Facilities (DTF) and (3) Tricare Clinics provide a full and complete range of inpatient and outpatient medical services to the operational forces,and Military Health System (MHS) beneficiaries, and other eligible personnel within the Tricare IMD-Atlantic Region.

    The NMCP Information Management Department (IMD) is responsible for the planning and implementation of medical information systems on a local and metropolitan area basis and in support of standard DoD and Navy medical information systems in accordance with Defense Health Agency (DHA) directives.

    As part of this effort we are required to:

    1. Provide Network Engineering, Local Area Network, and day-to-day support for calls routed from the Information Management Department (IMD) Help Desk, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP).
    2. Provide support and coordination to NMCP as they support beneficiaries of the DOD TRICARE initiative, TRICARE Next Generation contracts and carve-outs.

    It is extremely critical that Navy Medicine has reliable data communications throughout the world as more users depend on the MHS network infrastructure to enhance the quality of care dedicated to MHS beneficiaries.

    A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE SHAREPOINT SPECIALIST

    As the SharePoint Specialist, you will serve as a technical expert and architect for the customer. You shall use Oracle or SQL Server Databases and .Net or PHP or JAVA software technologies to develop Internet and intra-net web services and web page applications in support of the customer's processes.

    You will be responsible for:

    • Leading architecture and process strategies ensuring that the customer's SharePoint environment (separate instance) is scalable
    • Sustaining performance requirements
    • Complying with privacy and security policies
    • Implementing and support “form services”
    • Custom reporting
    • Custom work-flow and searches
    • Providing assistance in researching new and emerging technologies.
    • Building and configuring SharePoint websites using web UI or SharePoint Designer, as well as

    developing codes for SharePoint

    Involved with work elements that include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Project Development.
    • Defining technical requirements and developing solutions.
    • On-going support for applications.
    • Designing and customizing SharePoint Solutions.
    • Overseeing architectural design and integration of content management, portals, collaboration, business processes, or other solutions.
    • Planning and implementing software version upgrade releases.
    • Troubleshooting and debugging SharePoint sites.
    • Working as a consultant on SharePoint customization projects.

    MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Strong Proficiency at Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2013.

    Six years' experience in General IT engineering support of which a minimum of three years of

    Experience must be with ASP.NET Development.

    Proficiency in developing and maintaining Web services and multi-threading.

    Proficiency building and maintaining applications using object-oriented methodology.

    Workflow developments knowledge.

    Key Performance Indicator (KPI) knowledge.

    Communicate via presentation and technical writings.

    Incorporate the following skillsets into a daily function:

    • Leadership, the ability to work independently, and work as a part of a team

    Certification and training on the following:
