    POSITION SUMMARY

    Our client, whom we will refer to as Confidential Company, is seeking an experienced, full time Logistics Supervisor to work in their manufacturing facility in Alvarado, Texas. The logistics supervisor is primarily responsible for overseeing shipping, receiving, and inventory operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods, maintaining inventory integrity, and upholding the highest standards of safety and quality. The logistics supervisor will also be responsible for supervising the Shipping Clerk.

    Develops and implements logistics strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support organizational objectives.

    Analyzes operational data and KPIs to identify trends, resolve issues, and drive continuous process improvements in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.

    Collaborates with leadership and cross-functional teams to plan and execute logistics initiatives aligned with production and customer demands.

    Oversees compliance with all applicable DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards related to warehouse and transportation operations.

    Leads and manages logistics projects, such as carrier transitions, warehouse layout optimization, or new technology implementation, to enhance operational performance.

    Provides coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities to logistics team members to build capability and ensure high levels of performance and accountability.

    Oversees and directs the shipping and receiving process to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective handling of all incoming raw materials and outbound shipments, resolving escalated operational issues as needed.

    Evaluates shipping cost structures and develops negotiation strategies with carriers to achieve optimal service levels and maximize cost savings.

    Analyzes shipping reports and data to create proactive freight schedules that align with production forecasts and customer delivery requirements.

    Reviews and interprets shipping documentation and operational dashboards to prioritize workflow, allocate resources, and optimize shipping methods for efficiency and compliance.

    Ensures robust inventory management systems are maintained for customer-owned inventory at off-site storage facilities, addressing discrepancies and implementing corrective measures.

    Leads monthly inventory walkthroughs to validate asset integrity, identify risks, and ensure compliance with contractual and operational standards.

    Updates and manages the "Ship to the Yard" report regularly, ensuring accuracy and alignment with production and shipping plans.

    Builds and maintains strong customer relationships by proactively communicating inventory status and coordinating shipment schedules to meet service expectations.

    Provides oversight to ensure outbound orders are prioritized, pulled, staged, and loaded with precision and in alignment with shipping timelines and customer requirements.

    Reviews, approves, and signs off on all shipping and receiving documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.

    Champions quality assurance by overseeing inspections on all inbound and outbound materials, addressing non-conformities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

    Develops and implements inventory control procedures to maintain optimal stock levels through cycle counts, spot checks, and root cause analysis of variances.

    Directs and participates in material handling operations, ensuring effective use of equipment and personnel while maintaining productivity and safety standards.

    Drives process improvement initiatives to streamline warehouse workflows, reduce operational costs, and enhance overall logistics performance.

    Conducts root cause analyses of inventory discrepancies and shipping errors, leading cross-functional corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.

    Oversees warehouse organization and cleanliness, ensuring adherence to 5S, OSHA, and company safety requirements, and fostering a culture of safety excellence.

    Serves as the primary liaison between logistics operations and key departments to align schedules, resolve issues, and support overall business objectives.

    Leverages strong communication skills to collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery schedules and proactive issue resolution.

    Ensures meticulous recordkeeping and timely reporting of logistics activities to support operational transparency and data-driven decision-making.

    Provides leadership, supervision, training, coaching, and performance management to warehouse personnel, fostering professional growth and ensuring high levels of team effectiveness.

    Plans, schedules, and assigns daily operational tasks based on production priorities to achieve departmental goals.

    Promotes a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

    Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to logistics and warehouse operations.

    Strong knowledge of understanding of freight tariffs, NMFC codes, and dimensional classification.

    Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and develop team members to achieve operational goals and maintain a high-performance culture.

    Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

    Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the systems utilized by the organization, such as inventory management software. Made-2-Manage experience preferred.

    Basic math skills required; basic accounting knowledge preferred.

    Must be flexible, dependable, and have the ability to work overtime.

    Ability to adhere to safety rules and procedures and safety minded.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.

    Forklift certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire. Certification in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management (e.g., CLTD, CPIM) preferred.

    5+ years of progressive logistics, shipping/receiving, or warehouse experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment required. 3+ years of supervisory experience in logistics or warehouse operations required. Demonstrated experience in process improvement, cost reduction strategies, and inventory management systems preferred.
