The Logistics and Inventory Specialist manages assigned inventories through routine physical counts, requisitioning replenishments, and seeking alternative sources and materials when necessary. They organize and lead staff in conducting periodic inventory counts, adjust quantities and locations, and record and report discrepancies to management. They collaborate with other supported departments, maintaining communications and monitoring supply usage.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory and filing systems, including inventory cycle counts
- Assess and improve flows of supplies through the organization
- Work with Production Planning to identify inventory levels and place orders as necessary
- Ensure all documentation related to inventory flow is complete, accurate, and filed
- Validate and process work order scans, labor tracking, and material tracking through ERP systems
- Work with Finance/Supply Chain supervisor to identify excess and obsolescence material, scrap disposition, and material transfer availability
- Work with Quality to provide necessary inventory levels and scrap values while maintaining proper disposition procedures
- Coordinate and expedite the delivery of material and movement of critical material
- Define and utilize metrics that facilitate continuous improvements to planning processes and business results
What we need from you:
- 2 Year College Degree or equivalent experience in related field (Supply Chain, Business Administration, or similar)
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management
- Proficiency in Production Planning/ERP systems
- Lean Manufacturing skills
