We are seeking innovative, customer focused people to join our team! Our Accounting Department located at our head office in Richmond, BC currently has opportunities for:

    Staff Accountant (Treasury)

    The Staff Accountant (Treasury) will be an integral part of the month end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. The position will ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS and compliance to internal controls. Special projects, additional ad hoc reporting and analysis will be assigned by the Controller or CFO periodically.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Cash flow analysis, journal entries preparation and balance within GL sub-ledgers

    Sales/use tax filing/remittances and daily support of treasury functions.

    Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations.

    Responsible for credit card reconciliations and entries.

    Ensure systems in place to protect cash and other financial assets

    Review for fraud cheques.

    Perform monthly account analysis reconciling balance sheet accounts.

    Assist with internal and external audits.

    Support the Controller with the annual budget process and business analysis.

    Balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis of monthly fluctuations, including foreign currency conversions.

    Perform monthly sales/use tax compliance, including researching jurisdictional taxability requirement, filing and payment.

    The successful candidate will possess the following:

    Must be Accounting Diploma designated and have at least 5 years of experience with similar capacity in a corporate accounting department for a company with multi-business units.

    Advanced level of experience with Excel is preferred.

    Highly experienced with accrual accounting.

    Preference will be given to candidates with experience in PeopleSoft Financial applications.

    Must have expert level knowledge of all desktop computer applications such as MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Reader.

    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

    Ability to manage multiple projects to successful conclusion.

    Must have advanced attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

    Ability to organize information in a clear and concise manner.
