    Job Summary
    This job is in the Plant family (Department), which includes positions responsible for supervising or performing work metals processing and distribution work within the Reliance family of companies. Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods employed by Reliance companies in metals processing and distribution.

    The purpose of this Job Description is to describe the authority, responsibilities, and standards of performance for the General Manager (GM) of Valex Texas Weldment in Round Rock, TX (VTXW).

    The GM derives his/her authority from the President. The GM has sufficient authority to perform the assigned responsibilities within the policies and guidelines set forth by the Company.

    Job Function

    The GM has full P&L (Profit & Loss) responsibility and direct oversight of the following departments (may grow/shrink as business evolves):

    • All Daily Operations of VTXW

    • * Safety 
      
      • Quality
      • Operations
      • Facilities
      • Human Resources
      • Purchasing
      • Production
      • Planning
      • Warehouse & Inventory
      • Engineering
      • IT (“dotted line” managerial responsibility)
      • Accounting (“dotted line” managerial responsibility)
      • Sales and estimation (“dotted line” managerial responsibility)
    • Strictly enforce the Company (Reliance & Valex Corp.) Safety Policy and ensure environmental compliance.
    • Ensure that Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems are established in accordance with Valex Corp., customer, and market standards (expectations, requirements).
    • Manage the day-to-day business/operational responsibilities.
    • Embrace CIO (Continuous Improvement Opportunity, aka Voice of the Employees) and foster a vibrant, open, and happy workplace and culture.
    • Represent VTXW in front of Valex Corp., Reliance, customers, and suppliers.
    • Enforce, maintain, and “stay ahead” (avoid delinquency) of federal, state, and local compliance.
    • Meet/exceed annual Reliance/Valex Corp compliance requirements such as cycle count, ERP controls, inventory turns, material variance, and more.
    • Develop, coach, guide, and mentor direct reports.
    • Identify, measure, maintain, and improve Key Performance Indicators.
    • Monthly P&L review with Finance and Operations VP (or President).
    • Must be able to articulate, present, and speak in front of key stakeholder such as, but not limited to, Reliance, Valex Corp Executive leadership, all employee meeting, customers, suppliers.
    • Valex Corp is a multinational company, you will be required to travel of up to 20% globally and domestically as needed.

    CORE COMPETENCY

    • Full understanding of P&L responsibility and associated duties.
    • Intimate experience and knowledge of the Semiconductor weldment, integration, and equipment sub-assemblies.
    • Proven “hands on” leadership. True leader that can be hands on but know when to mentor, coach, and guide.
    • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma and JIT (just-in-time) manufacturing principles is highly favored.
    • Good knowledge and working experience with ERP and MRP system in a manufacturing environment.

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree is a plus. For qualified candidates only, Bachelor’s can be supplanted with 10 or more years of experience in the semiconductor weldment industry.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the semiconductor industry.
    • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Master black belt) is a plus.

    Work Environment : Field & Office setting; predominately controlled temperature environment

    Travel : Up to 25%

    FLSA : Exempt

    Required Experience
