Do you want to own an online business someday and have an interest in consumer products? Do you enjoy working independently, taking initiative, and getting in the details? I am hiring a full time Business Manager to grow my Amazon business. You will be a one-person-show improving ALL parts of the business with guidance, support, and coaching from me. Starting off, this position is about 50% online marketing (SEM, SEO, content creation), account management, & product development, 25% customer service & fulfillment, and 25% business administration and management. That may change depending on what you outsource. You will be challenged to learn, get out of your comfort zone, take initiative, and grow profit and sales. To be successful you will have to:
Do in-depth detailed analysis AND think at 30,000ft. i.e. use Excel to make decisions on our marketing campaigns, propose creative product/*marketing/business ideas to grow our business. *We were the first company in our market to SEO-optimize our Amazon product listings back in 2009, and it's still paying off. It was so successful our competitors straight-up copied our copy.
Follow through to completion. i.e. Successfully implement above ideas, profitably.
Speak to strangers. i.e. Build relationships with our largest accounts and smallest customer evangelists. Reach out [persistently] to potential international wholesale customers.
Find, hire and manage quality contractors that will help you achieve your objectives.
Love working alone (without supervision), prioritize effectively, take initiative, receive feedback, and be accountable for results.
Learn quickly. Fail cheaply. Act with urgency.
Depending on experience I am offering $18-20/hour to start and profit sharing after 6 months that can be up to 50% of your base pay. You will also have an option to buy the business after 2 years. *All new hires go through a 90-day trial period to see if this is a good fit for both parties.
What it's like to work here:
If you do your best work alone, this is the place for you. Once you're trained up, you'll be the only one in the *Austin office most of the time, with call-in huddles/meetings with me 3-4 times per week. Most of your time will be spent on a computer using various online platforms. While shipping has to be done a minimum of three days a week (MWF) from the office, as long as you are getting results, you have flexibility to work when and where you want. If tasks are done on-time and well, I try to stay out of the way and support you as needed.
We have an amazing office location, next to Soup Peddler and within walking distance to numerous cafes and restaurants. If you like music, use the Sonos!
*We outsource manufacturing to several factories in China, some administrative tasks to a Virtual Assistant in the Philippines, bookkeeping to a company in India, and others as needed.
