    Job Description

     

    Longwood Management Corporation, a management company providing consulting services for the Long Term Care Industry, is looking for an exceptional Help Desk Support to join the family. This individual must have an understanding of networking concepts, and be able to troubleshoot general PC hardware and network connection issues such as maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals such as heavy duty printers.

    The general end user support will consist of a variety of issues and platforms which include Windows 7/8/10 systems and software such as Microsoft office. The candidate must have the ability to identify, research, and resolve technical problems, and will be responsible for responding to telephone calls, emails and personnel requests for technical support. The individual will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. The Help Desk Support will work directly with end users and will also assist upper-level engineers to ensure that users’ needs are consistently being met.

    This role involves working out of the central office located in the Mid-Wilshire area in Los Angeles, and traveling to other facilities in the Los Angeles / San Gabriel Valley as needed. This position MAY require driving up to 50% of the time. Candidates MUST have a valid CA license, and a safe driving record must be maintained throughout employment.

    DELIVERABLES AND ACTIVITIES:

    • Provide direct support to customers over the phone or on-site
    • Diagnose and resolve problems in response to customer reported incidents:
      • PC
      • Printers
      • Programs
      • Connectivity
    • Follow customer support policies, procedures and standards
    • Provide customer training

    REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

    • Windows 7/8/10
    • Must have an intermediate knowledge in the fundamentals of networking technologies and theories​
    • MS Office Suite (2003/2007/2010/2013/2016)
    • PC hardware and software
    • Desktop peripherals
    • Experience working on, troubleshooting and resolving desktop issues
    • Experience with a ticketing system (Spiceworks a plus)
    • Familiarity with desktop configuration, desktop hardware and cards
    • Familiarity with printers, print servers and their configuration
    • Familiar with remote administration of computers via PC Anywhere / VNC / Remote Desktop

    REQUIRED WIRING SKILLS:

    • Work as a hands-on installer for all wiring needs
    • Candidate MUST be knowledgeable with CAT5e / CAT6e wiring, crimping and punching
    • Must be familiar with wire testers, and be able to test network cables

    BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

    • Passion for computers and technology
    • Must be well organized, have excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Very good communication/people skills
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant hands-on experience
    • Able to execute job tasks in a timely efficient manner
    • Must have a valid California CA license in good standing

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience with any of the following applications: ADP Enterprise E-time, ADP Payforce, Spiceworks ticketing system, VMware ESXi
