Loparex LLC is the worlds largest manufacturer of extrusion base and silicone coated release liners for the converting industry. We have manufacturing operations throughout the U.S., Europe, China, and India. The Iowa City facility has been in operation since 1970 and annually supplies three billion square feet of release liner worldwide. We are currently looking for a HUMAN RESOURCE COORDINATOR to join the Iowa City team.
The Human Resource Coordinator performs administrative duties in the Human Resources Department by entering personnel and payroll information into HR information systems, maintaining confidential personnel files, providing clerical assistance for the Human Resources Manager, answering employee policy and benefits questions, and performing HR related administrative duties such as maintaining logs and records for EEO, and COBRA.
JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-5 years of payroll experience using HRIS system, preferably ADP Workforce Now, v20
- 2-5 years previous human resource experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task
- Solid computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Requires the ability and skill to work independently.
- Requires solid basic math ability (for payroll/timekeeping/compensation-related tasks)
- Requires strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Performs sedentary work, occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds, mostly sitting with occasional walking and standing. Frequent walks on the production floor are expected.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Applies strict confidentiality with respect to all sensitive employee information.
- Prepares and processes payroll for the facility.
- Generates/maintains reports from the HRIS and related systems for management and auditing, analyzing, forecasting, and planning.
- Assists with recruiting, on-boarding, and employee inquiries. Conducts new hire orientation.
- Maintains human resources data bases and manual filing systems.
- Processes new hire, status changes and termination paperwork, including COBRA.
- Administers and explains benefits to employees, serves as a liaison between employees and the insurance carries.
- Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of assigned and ongoing administrative duties.
- Maintains records on leaves of absence ensuring that proper documentation is received from attending physician.
- Responsible for understanding and respecting the need for an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
- Responsible for maintaining positive and professional employee relations through helpful and courteous interactions with all employees.
SECONDARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares, verifies, and enters payroll and personnel information into computer system biweekly; examines resulting reports to ensure accuracy.
- Maintains accurate employee lists based on personnel records, for attendance, time in service, vacation, and others as requested.
- Answers employee questions related to benefits and payroll.
- Maintains COBRA records, tracks COBRA mailings and communications.
- Serves as backup for maintaining training records on site employees.
- Understands requirements and maintains appropriate forms and documentation related to applicants, new hires, rehires, and terminations.
- Schedules applicant interviews, including travel arrangements for management candidates, sets up physical/drug testing appointments.
- Maintains policy and procedure manual, updating copies as changes are implemented.
- Actively participates in company sponsored human resource and payroll training sessions.
