TITLE: Manager – Student Loan Management
DEPARTMENT: Financial Aid
REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Financial Aid
STATUS: Exempt
NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES SUPERVISED: 1
LOCATION: Hollywood, CA
PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
· Manage the Loan Management team & assist with reducing the overall cohort default rates for the school
· Establishes strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes.
· Oversees the reporting of team metrics and evaluation of both internal and external data sources to report outcomes and trends to management
· Maintains quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyzing and resolving quality and customer service problems; identifying trends; recommending system improvements.
· Employee development and training
· Maintain transparent communication. Appropriately communicate organization information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate email, IM, and regular interpersonal communication.
· Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; initiating corrective actions.
· Review, analyze, and report on current outcomes for the cohort default rate for the school.
· Administration of Federal and institutional policies and procedures
· Other tasks as required
MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· Five years of experience working in financial aid.
· Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution is highly recommend but not required.
· Previous personnel management experience highly recommended.
· Strong working knowledge of USDOE rules and regulations.
· Experience working in CampusVue database.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or Mac equivalent).
· A friendly, professional demeanour, verbal and written communication skills, as well as proven excellence in customer service are essential
· Ability to multitask and communicate effectively, using critical thinking and analysis skills
· Ability to work independently and manage timelines in a deadline driven environment
· Detailed oriented; accuracy of utmost importance
· Creative problem solver who works well in a team environment
