    Job Description

    OVERVIEW

    The marketing team at The Los Angeles Film School is looking for an exceptional Social Media Marketing Specialist to focus on actively listening and engaging in online communities to evolve our social media strategy and meet brand awareness goals and objectives. It is important that they are proactive, data insights focused and have exceptional writing skills.

    The Social Media Marketing Specialist will be responsible for bringing social media ideas to life through community engagement, community management, content creation, excellent writing, social monitoring and reporting on effectiveness of strategy. The successful candidate will have a strong and intimate knowledge of the social media landscape, community management, content development, project management and writing creative copy. The Social Media Marketing Specialist must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, be a self-starter, and be team oriented. They are passionate about social media, building community, discovering impactful insights, delivering thoughtful recommendations and influencing business decisions to maximize value.

    Candidates for this position must possess a minimum of 5+ years of experience working in social media for a brand or agency.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead the day-to-day community management for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
    • Creates, manages and grows The Los Angeles Film School brand presence across social media channels
    • Write and manage an evolving social media content calendar on a daily/weekly basis
    • Accountable for day-to-day responses and student support within social media channels
    • Responsible for providing online student support and lead creation via Live Chat on .edu
    • Responsible for consistent and appropriate brand voice depending on the audience/channel.
    • Formulate compelling copy and content ideas as well as project manage asset creation
    • Project management of social media and marketing engagement campaigns
    • Working knowledge and real-world experience in planning, managing and executing social media initiatives.
    • Innovate new and creative ways to use social platforms and digital content to tell stories, empower advocates, heighten the student experience, connect with grads and grow awareness
    • Become an active community member for The Los Angeles Film School in social media and third party channels, including responding in a timely manner and making updates and posts
    • Leverage data and reports to assist in engagement strategies and measure effectiveness
    • Assists social media team on site in support of The Los Angeles Film School events.
    • Monitoring ongoing social and cultural conversation to identify content opportunities and act through copy, photography and/or graphic design
    • Have exceptional writing skills to create copy for social media assets
    • Cataloguing and maintaining up-to-date, accurate digital assets for LAFS social media team through a Digital Asset Management System
    • Assist in day-to-day social media strategy, campaigns and execution
    • Accountable for the creation of presentations in a timely manner

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    • BS/BA Degree degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related discipline
    • 5+ years of social media experience for a brand or agency
    • 1-2 years of photography and/or graphic design experience a plus
    • Experienced in professional writing structure, ability to flex between formal and entertaining writing styles
    • Advanced knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their communities (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) and how they can be deployed in various initiatives
    • Have a comprehensive knowledge of trends, tools, applications and emerging technologies in the social media space

     

    COMPUTER/EQUIPMENT SKILLS:

    · Strong Mac and PC software/OS proficiency

    · Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite with proficiency in Lightroom and/or Photoshop

    · Ability to use Salesforce with proficiency
