    Position: Accounts Payable Manager Program: Accounts Payable Department: Finance Reports to: Controller/Assistant Controller Compensation: $75,000 Annually Status: 100%; Full-time; Exempt; Confidential Probation: 180 Days Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability, Employee Assistance Program, and a 403(b) Retirement Plan

    JOB SUMMARY: The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for managing the central collection, posting, and payment of invoices for all the Los Angeles LGBT Center programs. This position reviews the accounts payable detail as it relates to the general ledger control accounts, oversees/prepares and maintains documents related to accounts payable.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Manage the accounts payable processes for accurate, timely and complete processing of all transactions, including purchases orders/check request, invoices, expense reporting, and petty cash;
    2. Manage monthly ACH/Wire payments for utilities, credit cards, and other expenses, ensuring banking records agree to account payable system;
    3. Perform monthly close duties, including review/post journal entries and reconcile/review general ledger accounts;
    4. Responsible for all accounts payable-related reporting, including sales/use tax and 1099;
    5. Responsible for recruiting, selecting, developing, mentoring and coaching staff and inspiring and motivating individual and team performance;
    6. Responsible for training other departments on the submissions of expenses-related items;
    7. Participate in a wide variety of projects and compile ad-hoc reports as needed;
    8. Identify and execute improvements in Accounts Payable tools, reporting and processes;
    9. Draft fiscal policies and procedures for purchasing and expenditure;
    10. Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices;
    11. Other duties as assigned;

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    1. Knowledge of or experience working with the LGBTQ community and familiarity with issues of particular relevance to LGBTQ people;
    2. A passion for the Center’s work and its mission to make the world a better place for LGBTQ people;
    3. Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred;
    4. 6+ years accounts payable experience, including two years of supervisory experience;
    5. Advanced Excel proficiency is required;
    6. Experience with Microsoft Great Plains and Paramount Workplace Requisition & Procurement software is preferred;
    7. Strong and effective organizational and prioritization skills;
    8. Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task within a fast-paced environment;
    9. Possesses strong written and oral communication and customer service skills, including ability to work with vendors and internal and external customers in a professional manner;
    10. A self-starter with the ability to identify process improvements, including fiscal policies and procedures for purchasing and expenditure, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficient implementation;
    11. Ability to take ownership of issues and problems, find and enact resolutions and recommend process changes;
    12. Ability to effectively utilize interpersonal skills, including the ability to interface with management and work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and external agencies;
    13. Analytically strong and detail-oriented;
    14. Possesses a collaborative teamwork mentality with a strong work ethic, and commitment to high standards;
    15. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expression, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, ages, English-speaking abilities, immigration status, and physical abilities in a multicultural environment.
